Interests

My interests have long been focused on computer science and how its technologies can be used to improve people’s lives and experiences. While undergoing my Msc studies I became interested in Autonomous Agents and realized its potential to explore another personal interest, the human social behavior.


Currently I’m focused on using research of human social behavior to create socially intelligent virtual agents with more realistic behaviors. These agents can have several applications from which I’m mainly interested in pure simulation and games (for both a serious and entertainment context).


After finishing the Msc studies I started my Phd under the supervision of Prof. Rui Prada and Prof. Pedro Santos where I will explore this topic of research. I will be working on the concept of social power and its dynamics in computational applications.
