César Pimentel is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DEI) in Instituto Superior Técnico (IST/UTL), and an associate member of GAIPS at INESC-ID.

His research interests concern the fields of Affective Computing, Agents and Artificial Intelligence, in general. The main focus of his research is on designing architectures and processes that capture the influence of affects on human cognition (including belief dynamics, reasoning and decision-making), with the aim of producing behavior that is more credible and more effective.
