Srinivasan Janarthanam is a researcher in dialogue systems and natural language processing with interests in dialogue management, natural language generation and user modelling.
Currently, he is working on multi-tasking in location-aware dialogue systems and dialogue management for multi-user tutorial dialogue systems using serious games in EU FP7 projects SPACEBOOK and EMOTE. He has over 30 publications in natural language processing. He is currently a post-doctoral research associate at the Interaction Lab, Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh. Earlier, he worked at the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh, and Amrita University, India.
He received his Ph.D from the University of Edinburgh in 2011. He has a Masters in Intelligent Systems from the University of Sussex, UK, and an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Bharathiyar University, India. Previously, he has worked on Named Entity Recognition and Transliteration, Machine Translation, Dependency Parsing, POS tagging and Morphological Analysis.
