Interests
I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Intelligent Agents and Synthetic Characters Group (GAIPS) of INESC-ID and Instituto Superior Técnico, in the Technical University of Lisbon. The focus of my research is on developing principled techniques for coordinating the decisions of interacting intelligent agents (e.g., robots, web service agents, or unmanned vehicles). I am active in the AAMAS (Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems) and AAAI research communities, where I have served on a number of related program and review committees and have co-organized the Workshop on Multiagent Sequential Decision Making Under Uncertainty (MSDM) in 2011 and 2012.
Prior to beginning my postdoc, I completed my PhD (2011) at the University of Michigan AI Lab, under the supervision of my advisor Ed Durfee. My dissertation formalized influence-based policy abstraction for planning in cooperative weakly-coupled multiagent system, work which I am presently extending and applying to an Intelligent Surveillance System.
For more information on my research, including a complete publication list, please see my homepage.
