I joined GAIPS in September 2015 and I am currently collaborating with the RAGE project. In this project, we are developing an asset to enhance social skills of non-player characters. More specifically, we are working to empower the agents by adding Social Power dynamics in their decision making processes. Prior to this phase, as another asset of RAGE, we developed a data-driven model to recognize emotions from touching patterns. Earlier, in another project entitled as Fides, we developed a general framework to investigate the key prerequisites to trust robots.
In September 2014, I received my Master’s degree in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics with an emphasis on Affective Computing from the University of Tehran, Iran. During my master's, my research aimed at improving Human experience with Computers by developing adaptive systems with regard to the affective state of the human user. More specifically, we developed a framework for mood recognition using emotional features. The system works either for a long-time or a short-time interaction of the user, using two sub-systems. Both of the sub-systems rely on emotions obtained from Facial Expressions.
Earlier, I received my B.Sc. in Computer Hardware Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST), Tehran, Iran, in September 2010. As my B.Sc. thesis, under the supervision of Dr. Nasser Mozayyani, we updated the conventional Neocognitron ANN by extending it to the complex space.
