Interests
I am a PhD candidate at IST, Technical University of Lisbon, under the supervision of Prof. Carlos Martinho and Prof. Ana Paiva. I also work as a Research Assistant in the LIREC project (Living with Robots and Interactive Companions).
My research concerns with the role of affect in long-term interaction between humans and artificial companions, either robots or virtual agents. In particular, I am exploring aspects such as empathy and user adaptation, in the attempt to build characters capable of establishing meaningful relationships with children.
