Ali is a Ph.D. student in Robotics at Instituto Superior Técnico and a researcher at GAIPS, INESC-ID, in Lisbon, Portugal .

He is a researcher in AI, robotics, and human-robot interaction. He is working on learning motor skills from demonstration and exploration, combining ideas from both active learning and reinforcement learning.

He is interested in the application of machine learning, Deep learning in the development of Robots' behavior, cooperation and capability to perform complex tasks jointly with other agents.
