
Soraia Paulo
Soraia F. Paulo is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at INESC-ID in the AI for People and Society research group. She received a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering in the domain of Human-Computer Interaction at Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa in 2025. She also holds an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 2015. Soraia joined the Graphics and Interaction group at INESC-ID in 2016 as a Research Assistant in the IT-MEDEX: Interactive Tablets for Collaborative Scenarios Related to 3D Medical Image Exploration project, involving the visualisation and manipulation of medical imagery leveraging Virtual and Augmented Reality technologies, as well as touchless interfaces. Her PhD work explored LLM-based tools aimed at supporting collaboration and enhancing performance of Cancer Multidisciplinary Teams through efficient high-quality medical documentation production. Currently, she is part of the SWATE: Socially-Aware AI for Teamwork Enhancement and Training project, which investigates the development of an AI agent capable of understanding and responding to the complex dynamics of human teams in clinical simulation settings.
