Ongoing Project
Teachers seem to contribute meaningfully to fostering a positive school climate and pro-social behavior and inhibiting disruptive behavior. Therefore, the role of teachers has been considered fundamental to tackle aggressive behavior at school, namely cyberbullying. However, they are often unaware of aggressive acts among their students, and even when they are, many consider that they are not responsible for resolving these situations. Thus, this project intends to investigate teachers’ emotional and moral engagement with cyberbullying, and respond to teachers’ training needs on how to intervene effectively in this phenomenon.
The project aims to develop, pilot test and study the efficacy of a blended learning teacher training program in the field of cyberbullying. The program will include an information technology component and a face-to-face component to promote pro-sociality and well-being among youth, through changes in teachers’ emotion regulation and moral involvement with cyberbullying, as well as their social-emotional ethical competence to deal with the phenomenon, their well-being, professional calling, emotional exhaustion, absenteeism and presenteeism.
